Final Day in Rome – Thursday, May 18, 2017
Our day started out waiting to leave for our train to Rome from Florence for our last night in Italy. Since the train didn’t leave until 11 a.m., a bunch of us went down for breakfast or over to McDonald’s or Burger King to wait until it was time to go.
Once we boarded the train, we all sat comfortably for the three hour ride back to the Roma Termini. And upon arrival, made our way back to Hotel Cervia to spend our last night in the city. Professor Caserta and Dr. Ryan gave us our meeting times for our taxis to the airport and then sent us on our way.
Groups of us split off to go revisit the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and the Spanish steps one last time before leaving. Others enjoyed food from the pizza shop across the street, made a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe, or to one of the last authentic Italian restaurants they’d have the option to try.
While majority of the group decided to get some sleep before their 6 a.m. departure time, a number of us made our way back to The Yellow Bar to have one more night of fun in Rome. And FUN it most certainly was.
